Hey There ....

Welcome!

This is a site where I highlight the music that I enjoy and hopefully, you will get some enjoyment from it too. My intention is to provide new and interesting songs, rarities (such as B-sides) from yesteryear, as well as other tracks that were hits (and sometimes not) - I guess that means anything at all really!

Of course, it's just another music blog, so that formula may change from time to time (no apologies offered for that). You might not like everything that I've posted, but you're bound to like something! It's also possible that I may just make the odd factual mistake, so please let me know if you happen to spot any such event & I'll fix it pronto.

If you have any sort of copyright issues with any of the material on this site, please advise me by email and it'll vanish (it's as simple as that).

Starsailor - "Silence Is Easy"

I can't remember how I came to know about Starsailor - I don't really listen to the radio, and I rarely watch the music shows on pay tv - but somewhere along the line, I listened to some of their music and thought they weren't bad at all. I've bought two of their albums and both are pretty darn good - so wherever it was that I first heard them, I'm have no complaints.

The band is made up of James Walsh (vocals and guitar), James Stelfox (bass), Barry Westhead (keyboards) and Ben Byrne (drums). Apparently the lads are pretty big in their homeland (UK). They remind me a little of bands such as Keane and Snow Patrol if I'm looking for a comparative yardstick. Outside of England, I'm not sure how the lads have fared, but I certainly wouldn't be betting against them becoming a success story elsewhere.

The first song I've chosen today, "Silence Is Easy," has been taken from their 2003 CD, "Silence Is Easy," and the second, "I Don't Know," appears on the band's 2005 CD, "On The Outside."

  1. Nice choice. I think they had a minor hit in Oz with Four To The Floor .... which had a more electronic feel (guess it was aimed at those clubbing types!)

  2. Thanks Fitzy I don't remember the song you mentioned, and I haven't got any Starsailor music that I'd consider electronic, but I will look it up and have a listen.
